Unfinished Portrait is a semi-autobiographical novel written by Agatha Christie and first published in the UK by Collins in March 1934 and in the US by Doubleday later in the same year. The British edition retailed for seven shillings and sixpence (7/6) and the US edition at $2.00.
This is my second one. Unfinished Portrait is very much Christie’s life, vaguely disguised. Having read her autobiography, you can totally see the similarities. It is a heart-breaking tale, especially when you realise you’re seeing into her heart and soul. Even without this aspect, it is a worthy read, the study of a life.
The Unfinished Portrait is a watercolor of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt by Elizabeth Shoumatoff.Shoumatoff was commissioned to paint a portrait of President Roosevelt and started her work around noon on April 12, 1945. At lunch, Roosevelt complained of a headache and subsequently collapsed.

My Review: I think what I like most about Agatha Christie's works as Mary Westmacott is the character development.
